THE ECSTATIC JOY OF NIA

With Megan MacArthur and Kevin VerEecke:
October 18-20 (Friday to Sunday) a 2-night Residential Workshop

Dance your big Joy out in the world--on the dance floor of the Earth we will take it to the trees, the community, the beach and together, drop in deeper into the place where the ecstatic Joy of living in a body is set free to play, express and seamlessly dance through life.

Spend a full weekend deep diving into this ecstatic experience of Joy and Nia, journey into the unknown through music, beat, breath, movement, mind, and the ultimate magical blend of our unique spirits. Based in the Joy of the Nia practice we will dance into uncharted spaces accessing, new levels of possibilities in body, mind, emotions and spirit. Bring clothing and foot protection for out-of-doors experiences as well as indoor barefoot and sweaty hours of bliss. Please bring a journal and something sacred to you (that fits in your suitcase).

"The soul of movement is Joy and this is ecstatic. The physical celebration of the body is ecstatic when it is allowed to move freely and break habit. When we allow this seed of light to sprout in us, we feel held, connected, and supported and have a context in which to place the dance of our lives. Ecstatic Joy is not a technique or a choreographic method of finding bliss in the moment. It is an attitude toward the body, movement, and life. Ecstatic Joy is not just for when things in life are going well. It is an open accepting energy that accepts whatever comes its way." - Debbie Rosas

Megan MacArthur ~ Megan has been dancing since she was three years old. Megan’s first Nia class was the one she took on the first Sunday of her Nia White Belt Intensive in 1993. It changed her life completely. Upside down and rearranged by the new ways of Nia, she navigated, tore apart, rebuilt, re-structured, and scrambled the habitual into a world of experimental and organic. Megan was introduced to living life as “real” joy, as sensations felt only now, and to body wisdom as it educates. Megan’s career as a performer began to reach new depths and heights. As a Nia instructor in New York and Hawaii, sharing the Joy of Movement continued to expand her life. Her self confidence grew, endurance increased, and the Joy of movement became her truth. www.meganmacarthur.com

Kevin VerEecke ~ Kevin began teaching Nia in 2001 after 15 years of dance training and performing. He is now a Nia Black Belt, Trainer and choreographer for Nia HQ. Kevin has helped develop the 52 Moves Training with Debbie Rosas, and is currently developing an Athletic Nia program. “Masterful” “Outrageous” “Exciting and Fun” are how his students describe his classes.
